We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”

He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything. - Arabian Proverb

Nothing is more noble, nothing more venerable than fidelity. Faithfulness and truth are the most sacred excellences and endowments of the human mind.

Yes, contentment.

Lalitha! You said a pure truth. I have learned it the hard way.

"Health is the greatest gift;
contentment is the greatest wealth;
trusting is the best relationship;
nirvana is the highest joy."

That was actually -Lord Budha-

starry 9:09 PM

Jac..Health is the greatest gift and to me it far exceeds wealth.

Most of my life I have been running after something that I didn't have. I would get something I didn't have but in the getting I would loose somethinf else or a new gap would emerge and I would work to try to fulfill the new missing thing in my life. It took me a while to realize this that in all our lives there will always be something missing. We can certainly work on filling up the missing pieces, but our internal happiness should not depend on our external circumstances. If they do they we are out of luck!

jhantu 10:04 PM

didnt get the point of this post.. random thoughts??

*He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything*

sooo true...relate to it perfectly now...a good health indeed does give u hope of a better life!

rauf 10:19 PM

Health, wealth are meaningless when we have no freedom.
I lost my freedom for a few days, when it was restored. I realised I have been taking my freedom for granted

slight shift in attitude makes a lot of difference

Well said :)
Health is wealth.
He who is unhappy about what he don't have is going to be forever unhappy, coz you got to learn to be happy with what you got, and can get.
Cheers!

Sometime the simplest things in life are the most difficult to understand and this indeed is one of them!

salim 12:33 AM

That is right, health and I think the time are the best gifts to have, but the right brain is most valuable thing to have; to discover the right and the wrong and the rightist from the right and the worst from the wrong.

Strictly for my friends 2:18 AM

Faithfulness is in the mind. One can flirt with a million people of the opposite sex and still remain totally faithful to their partner. At the end of the day, it is an equation of the trust that is between two people.

Neer 3:27 AM

yeppp... hope and faith win hands down!! :) a very good post!

Has to be me 3:40 AM

Nice quotes, learnt by personal experience...:)

I read a quote somewhere and it says..." A man can live up to 40 days without water, 8 minutes without air, But cant live a single second without hope..."

And ya one has to be healthy to be hopeful. Afteall hope is the state of mind.
