FROM A DISTANCE.....

I was driving home last evening and heard an old song by Bette Midler and was thinking about the words and it seemed so true that from a distance everything seems all right it is only when you are near do you see the real plight. It is so easy sometimes to give advice or to comment on a situation from a distance . I thought I would share the lyrics with you.

From a Distance

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
And the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight
From a distance, there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace,
It’s the voice of every man.
From a distance we all have enough,
And no one is in need
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
No hungry mouths to feed.
From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They’re the songs of every man.
God is watching us from a distance.
From a distance you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting is for
From a distance there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
And it’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves,
It’s the heart of every man.
It’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves.
This is the song of every man.

SCRIBBLEZ TO WAKEUP 2:28 PM

Oh yes indeed!! The macro view is very appealing and beautiful and peaceful but when yo usee the micro view you see all the flaws n the negativities..Also remind sme tht the grass is greener on the other side too....As we dig further we see there is more mess than what we perceived before! Good one:)

You're right.. everything is easy from a distance. We hardly can feel any pressure to the real thing..

while I was reading through this post, I imagined I was an astronaut. I was stepping slowly away from my chaotic life, stepping into the spacecraft. As the spacecraft was taking off, I could hear all the screams and noises of people around it, and bands playing in the background. Then, as the craft lifted from the earth, the voices of the people slowly subsided... and finally, there was a moment of complete silence. The earth looked so wonderfully peaceful from the space. Just like any other planet or heavenly body.

Thanks for bringing these thoughts to my mind... they gave me a sense of relaxation!
