ROUND AND ROUND

For three weeks he has come and gone
Back and forth round and round.
Hitting his head on the window pane
Trying to enter, maybe seeing
his reflection in a mirror in vain.

Confused, disoriented, maybe lost
Why does he come back to the same place at any cost.
He leaves when the sun goes down
And returns at the break of dawn.

I wish I knew what he wanted or what he is looking for
I appear helpless just like him.
As he goes round and round
And finally hits the ground.

I took this video of the bird from my bedroom. , he used to wake us up every day,I miss him even though sometimes I wished he did not come.Isn't life like that sometimes. Sorry for not visiting any blogs. I was with my sister, she completed her first dose of chemo and is doing fairly well, just very weak. Will be going for her next treatment in two weeks. Please continue to pray for her.I have started physical therapy. my back is still bothering me but is getting better. We are coming to the end of American Idol.I am not sure who I would like to win because I like Blake and Jordan.

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre..."
For some reason your poem brings to mind Yeats vision in "The Second Coming"

Your poems cries for escape and rootedness at the same time; evocative!

Starry: This bird loves to build a small nest for itself and is trying to get in. Poor beak, must be painful hitting hard on glass.

Hope you are ok and take care:)

That is a great video, starry and a beautiful poem! In Native American spirituality, they would have said the bird was trying to give you a message. I have a whole dictionary of animals and what they represent to the Native Americans, it is fascinating! Do you know what bird that was? I'm not real good at identifying birds.

My prayers continue to be with your sister. So glad to hear she is responding well to the chemotherapy. Wishing so hard this thing goes into remission, Please keep us posted.

I couldn't see the video you have taken due to my server which I will watch later when my net is normal.

The same thing has happened with me too.
It was a lone bird in beautiful yellow and black colour. Day-in-day-out, it used to bang its head over and over on the glass panes on window at my bedroom alcove.
I was angry at first and tried to ward off because it was disturbing my reading.

Fed up, one day I went out in the small balcony just outside window. What I come to understand is that the glass reflects its features and the fellow was trying to fight or trying to be fresh with its mate...whatever :)

I put off the Aircon and opened the window and the bird went away. I left the window open for a week... no reflections and no more banging.

After a week it was missing from the territory

Lotus.I never knew that.I love everything about the native americans and their beliefs, they always facinate me.I think it was a blue bird.It is black all over but has this beautiful blue tail.Thank you for keeping my sister in your prayers.

starry 1:30 PM

Jac that was interesting, thats exactly what this bird was doing.Except that I am unable to open this window, the ceiling is very high and the window is just for light. I tried shooing it off so many times but it kept coming back everyday.

My brother had the same p[roblem with a wood pecker that kept looking at itself and pecking at the window in the loft over the barn, we felt it was trying to get to what he thought was another woodpecker. Finally it gave up on the glass and started pecking away the wood around the window. Got so bad the window had to be replaced.
Good Luck with the thetrapy and sending a prayer for your sister`s health to return.
